Students impress again with record GCSE results

Published on 24/08/18

Students at East Point have posted another year of record GCSE results.

This year's exams, which included new more stretching exams in most subjects and the biggest part of a phased switch to numeric grades, saw students receive the best results in the academy's history.

At the headline measure of Grade 4+ English and Maths - roughly equivalent to an old C grade or better pass - 68% of the academy's students qualified, up from 64% last year.

Principal Richard Dolding said: "This is another year-on-year rise for our results, which is testimony to the hard work, commitment and dedication of our amazing students, staff and the wonderful support provided by their parents and the wider school community.

"This year group have been fantastic role models to our younger pupils, inspiring them to continue East Point's outstanding progress in September."
